ZEIT

Past Forward brings together twelve artists who have previously exhibited at ZEIT or are otherwise connected to the space. Their works are presented throughout the house alongside pieces from the collection, including abstract paintings from the 1960s to the 1980s and a selection of furniture and objects by Joe Colombo.

Rather than looking back nostalgically, the exhibition revisits earlier encounters and places them in a new constellation. As in many previous presentations at ZEIT, contemporary works, post-war abstraction and design come together in carefully curated dialogues across the rooms of the house.

Hidden inside a private house in Antwerp, ZEIT functioned as an exhibition space from 2019 to 2025. Around twenty exhibitions unfolded across several rooms, a hallway, and the garden. Carefully curated presentations brought emerging artists into dialogue with post-war abstract works and design pieces, creating encounters between different generations, practices, and objects. For this edition of Antwerp Art Weekend, the space will be activated once more before the house changes owners, marking a final presentation in this location — and perhaps the beginning of a different chapter for ZEIT elsewhere.
