As a centre for dialogue on the city of tomorrow, Stadsform wants to influence arts to propose radical ideas for the city and its public spaces, in tradition of the famous proposals by Luc Deleu. Luc Deleu and his work with T.O.P office is not easily put into one category. He brings together experience and ideas from the art and spatial world. During his lecture he will highlight some of his work that has bridged this gap and focus on proposals for cities (in the future and the past).
Luc Deleu (born Duffel, September 1, 1944) is a Belgian conceptual artist, architect, and urban planner.
He studied and taught at the Sint-Lucas Institute for Architecture in Brussels. In 1970, he founded the urban planning firm T.O.P. Office together with Laurette Gillemot. Since 1972, Deleu has worked on proposals, with a distinct spatial and social engagement, with recurrent updates.
Since 1973, Deleu has worked on Orbanism: architecture on a global scale. His Orbanist Manifesto was published in 1980. Since 1995, he has collaborated with his firm T.O.P. Office on The Unadapted City, a design-based urban planning study.
The evening will be held in Dutch. The evening is free to attend with registration, and we offer a pay-what-you-can principle. It is an unique oppostadsform.be/stadsformevents/antwerp-art-weekend-lezing-met-luc-deleurtunity to see the city through new eyes and share your thoughts on what it could be like tomorrow.
