Venues / FAAR

During Antwerp Art Weekend, FAAR Art Space presents Sticky Fingers — an upcoming exhibition with a premise that is intentionally simple and open: every participant is invited to contribute a sticker.

This can be a sticker you create yourself, or one you already have and would like to share. The content is entirely up to you — something politically or socially meaningful, a personal thought, a drawing, a humorous image, a slogan, a graphic you like, or even the sticker of your favourite kebab place. The gesture can be serious, playful, intimate, absurd, or completely casual.

With this project, FAAR Art Space transforms into a temporary, uncensored container of ideas, built collectively through the accumulation of stickers. Much like the layered sticker walls found in club toilets, on street corners, or across city walls, the exhibition grows organically through many contributions. The presence of numerous, overlapping stickers is essential — the density itself becomes the exhibition.
The invitation is intentionally open. While artists are being reached out to directly, everyone is very welcome to share this invitation with anyone they wish — friends, other artists, neighbours, or anyone who might want to contribute. Participation is not limited to the art scene; the goal is for the FAAR wall to become a surface where anyone can leave an idea.

Participants can contribute in two ways: by creating a sticker, or by bringing one they simply like and want to place on the wall.

Sticky Fingers opens during Antwerp Art Weekend. On Friday evening May 15, FAAR Art Space hosts an opening gathering with music, a DJ, food, and drinks — more details about the programme will follow soon.
To participate, bring your sticker in person or send it by post so it arrives before the installation date.

Atelier FAAR – which stands for For Artists and Residents – is a platform for artistic exchange and community engagement, deeply rooted in the vibrant neighborhood of Borgerhout, Antwerp. Our activities are based in two buildings on Kistemaeckersstraat, where we offer affordable, sustainably built studios made from reusable and second-hand materials. With this initiative, we support not only emerging and established artists but also create space for amateur makers. In this way, we foster a community that thrives on collaboration and creativity, embodying the ethos of artists for artists.

At the core of FAAR’s mission is our commitment to facilitating meaningful dialogue and collaboration between guest artists, local residents, and the wider community. We believe that artistic practice serves as a powerful tool for connection, reflection, and social engagement. By bridging the gap between art and the neighborhood, we aim to create a rich tapestry of shared experiences and ideas.
