Monar x UGG

This spring, Monar and UGG are collaborating on a new initiative to support emerging creative talent in Antwerp. With a shared focus on local culture and fresh perspectives, they launched an open call across the city’s two major art schools, inviting students to submit work that reflects the spirit of summer—effortless, bold, and expressive.

From the many submissions received, two artists were selected: Jeanne Dresse and Jorne Scholiers. Their work will be presented in a duo exhibition at Monar & Clothes during Antwerp Art Weekend. The exhibition provides a platform for early-career artists to share their practice with a wider audience during one of the city's key cultural events.

On Friday, May 30, from 18:00 onwards, visitors can meet the artists in person and raise a glass to their work and Big Summer Energy!

Since this year, our collaboration with Monar and UGG has been rooted in a mutual commitment to supporting emerging creative voices within the city. With a history that spans several decades, Monar has grown into a key presence in Antwerp’s fashion landscape. In 2014, Monar opens a second store—Monar & Clothes and focuses on a new generation of style—bringing together a carefully curated collection of brands.

Known for its young, creative outlook and thoughtful brand selection, Monar continues to engage with the cultural life of the city beyond retail. For this Antwerp Art Weekend, Monar and UGG have co-created an in-store exhibition that highlights the work of local talent, offering a platform for emerging artists to present their work in a public, accessible setting. This initiative reflects a shared belief in the importance of giving visibility to the next generation of creatives.

Located in close proximity to many Antwerp Art Weekend venues, Monar offers visitors a chance to explore how fashion, design, and visual culture can come together in a meaningful, community-driven way.
