All My Friends Are Scientists

ALL MY FRIENDS ARE SCIENTISTS proudly presents its first group exhibition during Antwerp Art Weekend, connecting and showcasing the artistic practices of Belgian artists Roeland Tweelinckx, Anja Vermeir, and Portuguese artist Luis Paulo Costa. Roeland Tweelinckx invites Luis Paulo Costa and Anja Vermeir to delve into the relationships between their respective works.

Together, they explore their shared yet distinct artistic practices, characterized by a refined and seemingly effortless approach. Their creations navigate the liminal spaces between familiarity and estrangement, communication and silence, authenticity and imitation, playfulness and intellectual rigor—all imbued with a subtle sense of nonchalance and absurdity. Through thoughtful processes and acute observational skills, the artists curate an exhibition where objects seamlessly evolve into sculptures, and sculptures revert to objects. Their collaboration emphasizes how these transformations enrich and amplify each other’s creative perspectives, resulting in a dynamic and thought-provoking dialogue.

During Antwerp Art Weekend artists Dana Seachuga and Octave Vandeweghe of Studio DO invite you to enjoy a cocktail sipped from cobblestones at various locations across the city. These spontaneous interventions are part of their ongoing project Dining within the Ruins of Aesthetics and Function which explores the intersection of heritage stonecutting and the act of dining. For this occasion DO engages in a dialogue with the city’s historic bond with cobblestones. With beverage recipes by Nina Marte Wilson.
